Nagpur: Nagpur Cricket Academy (NCA) emerged champions in the cricket tournament organised by Vidarbha Cricket Association for players between the age of 15-18 years, recently. In the final played at Kalamna ground, NCA thumped Combined District A by eight wickets.
Electingtobat,NCAscored157 in their first innings with major contributions coming fromYash Kadam(70)andKartikDatey(30). For Combined District, Dipesh Parwani (4-49) and Sameer Duifode (4-46) were the main wicket takers. None of the District batsmen could score in double digits as Datey (11.3-6-19-6) ran through the innings. District made just 46. Following on, District batters put up a much improved show and scored 237-9.
Chakresh Khurana,ShivamDeshmukhand Vippan Singh scored in the forties. Shreyash Ganguly snared four while Mandar Mahalle took two wickets. Chasing the target of 127 runs, NCA romped home losing two wickets. Manveer Saini made 39 and Datey remained unbeaten on 33
