Naveen Jindal, Madhu Koda among 14 charge sheeted by CBI in Coal Scam

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has  today filed chargesheets against industrialist Naveen Jindal and 14 others in Amarkonda Murgadangal (Jharkhand) coal block allocation case. The other accused include  former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda, ex-Minister of State for Coal Dasari Narayan Rao and ex-Coal Secretary H.C. Gupta.

The charges are believed to be of gross misappropriation of funds and making false claims. Other alleged offenses are of criminal conspiracy and cheating under provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act.

Five companies, including Jindal Steel and Power Ltd and Jindal Realty Pvt Ltd, have also been named as accused in the CBI chargesheet.

A Special CBI court will consider the chargesheet on Thursday.
