Bhopal: Former Rajya Sabha lawmaker, United News of India chairman (emeritus) and Navbharat group of newspapers chief editor Praful Kumar Maheshwari died of a cardiac arrest in the Madhya Pradesh capital.
He was 76.
He is survived by wife Brij Maheshwari and three sons – Sandeep, Sanjeev and Sumit.
Ailing for the past few days, Maheshwari was admitted to a private hospital where he breathed his last late on Thursday night.
For almost four decades, Maheshwari was among UNI’s board of directors and many times served as chairman of the premier news agency. He also worked as the chief of many social organisations.
His last rites will be performed at Bhadbhada Vishram ghat here at around 1600 hrs today.
