
Nagpur: City’s rising shuttler Rutva Sajwan made Nagpur and Maharashtra proud with a phenomenal performance at the 69th National School Games (SGFI) underway at New Delhi. The talented player won two golds in the Under17 category. Apart from winning the singles title, he was also a member of the State team that won the national championship.
Rutva was in fine form as he won his singles semis and final without losing a game. In the semi-final, Rutva defeated Farah Khan of Telangana 21-10, 21-11 and for the crown, he beat Rajasthan’s Naveen Soni 21-15, 21-11.
From excelling at the Nagpur District Inter-School (DSO) Badminton Tournaments to dominating at Division Level and then shining at the State Level, Rutva secured his place in Team Maharashtra and went on to represent the State at the national stage with remarkable success. His dedication, hard work and fighting spirit have brought immense pride to Nagpur and Maharashtra. City’s badminton fraternity congratulated Rutva for his super show.
