Nagpur: Recently, National Convention for CA Students was organized by Board of Studies ICAI and hosted by Nagpur Branch of WIRC of ICAI in association with Nagpur Branch of WICASA on 7th & 8th July 2016 at IMA Hall, North Ambazari Road Nagpur, which was attended by more than 700 student delegates from all over country. IG [Nagaland], former DIG, CBI, Sandeep Tamgadge, was the Chief Guest in valedictory session of Convention.
Sandeep Tamgadge, Chief Guest, in his words of wisdom, said that, such sort of mega event in the form of National Convention, goes a long way for the CA Students to interact among themselves. More specifically, when the Nagpur based CA Students get such opportunity to meet other ones from various places all over the country, they get to know the various crucial perspectives for attaining the common goal of getting qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He whole heartedly, shared his success story with the 700 plus students present in the auditorium. He appealed to remain committed to qualify as a Chartered Accountant.
CA. Kirit Kalyani, Chairman, Nagpur Branch of WICASA, gave the introductory remarks on the occasion. After duly welcoming Sandeep Tamgadge, Chief Guest, he said that the WICASA Team, through Valedictory Session, sincerely wishes to convey best wishes to all who have supported directly or indirectly for ensuring all success to the convention. He very proudly recalled the happenings in the convention. He informed the invitees for Valedictory that earlier, on day one, it was inaugurated by CA. Jaydeep Shah, Past President, ICAI. CA. Babu Abraham Kallivayalil, Chairman BOS, CA. Dhiraj Khandelwal, Vice Chairman, BOS, CA. Shruti Shah, Chairperson, WIRC & CA. Pradeep Agrawal Chairman, WICASA were the Guest of Honor.
He duly recognized the presence and sharing of rich treasure of knowledge by Central Council Members, CA Mangesh Kinare, CA S. B. Zaware and CA Jai Chhaira, during the technical sessions. Special Session in the form of Discussion cum Debate lent unique chance to CA Students to give their opinions on the proposed CA Course Curriculum. He informed that after due preparatory efforts for nearly two months, for the very first time, hand made memetoes & chocolates were given to the intended guests and paper presenters. He said that the Cultural Night with the tag line Bailamos, became super successful because of following the guidelines of Board of Studies and the very active participation of CA Student performers. Audience in the form of CA Students, enjoyed a lot.
He appreciated the efforts and support of all the Chartered Accountant members through various sub committees for the convention, WICASA sub-committee members, parents of the WICASA members, student volunteers, paper presenters, panel speakers, branch administrative staff, various agencies & sponsorers, for ensuring all sort of required help for the convention. He extended his best wishes to the CA Student friends.
CA. Swapnil Ghate, Chairman, Nagpur Branch of WIRC of ICAI welcomed the Guests & Students. He was very happy with the success of the event. He couldn’t stop himself from sharing that the chief guest in the form of very humble and determined IPS Officer, added one more cherishable feather in the cap of memories. He informed all present that this was the best WICASA National Convention, till date. Presence of delegates and paper presenters from various distant places including Delhi, Ludhiana, Ranchi, Guntur, Chennai, Akola, Amravati, really gave the colour of National to the Convention, he said. The fully packed auditorium till the valedictory session, was because of well planned and coordinated efforts of all concerned, he said. He urged the CA Students to get duly guided from the knowledge sharing during the convention, as the same is going to help them in their entire life tenure.
CA. Abhijit Kelkar, Regional Council Member, who happened to be the Guest of Honour and Chairman of Technical Session as well, complemented the WICASA, Nagpur and the Nagpur Branch of the ICAI, for taking all due efforts and leaving no stone unturned for ensuring all sorts of colours of joy and success for the convention. He was happy to set new enhanced benchmarks for such convention through the event. He extended his heartfelt wishes to all the future Chartered Accountants, in his unique style. He informed about the initiatives being taken by the Institute, at regional level, from the point of view of the students concerned. He appealed the students to remain in constant touch with the activities of the Institute and Nagpur branch, for ensuring due all round grooming during the crucial articleship tenure.
The success of the convention was also on account of the due support and efforts on the part of the managing committee members being CA Sandeep Jotwani, Vice Chairman, CA Umang Agrawal, Secretary, CA Suren Duragkar, Treasurer, CA Saket Bagdia, CA Sanjay Agrawal, CA Jiten Saglani and WICASA Sub-Committee Members being Palkesh Khandelwal, Harmanraj Kaur, Itisha Bahri, Yash Budhwani, Shubham Jain and Suraj Madaan. Formal vote of thanks was proposed by CA Umang Agrawal, Secretary of the branch.
