Nandanvan on verge of gangwar as goon thrashed in moving car

Nagpur: Panic grew large while sparks flew high in Nandanvan as notorious goon Navvya alias Maroti Santosh Walne (42) was kidnapped and thrashed by his friends turned foes inside the speeding vehicle on Tuesday.
The accused have been identified as Vijay Mohod, Ramdas Raut, Sujit and their two accomplices.

According to a 42-year-old complainant, the tiff began at a party in a farm house near Hingna, where Navvya and all the accused had gone. Accused Mohod had lost money while gambling and sought 2 lakhs from complainant Walne. However when Walne expressed reluctance to fulfill Mohod’s demand, the accused reportedly threatened him of dire consequences.

On Tuesday at around 4.45pm, Walne was accompanied with his friend Ashok Babaji Yadav near Mire layout when accused Mohod along with his accomplices approached him. They forcefully pulled him into the car and thrashed him with sticks. Later the accused dropped him near Mhalginagar Square in the night and fled from the spot.

The incident has left the area tense and simmering. Speculations are rife that this could trigger gang war. In the meantime police have booked all the accused under relevant sections and started the probe.
