Nanaji Deshmukh Memorial Chess Tourney inaugurated

Deendayal Shodh Sansthan and Bal Jagat has jointly organized Nanaji Deshmukh Memorial Chess Tournament at Bal Jagat premises on May 29, 2014. The tournament was inaugurated by Superintendent of Police (Nagpur Rural), Dr. Arti Singh.

The Secretary of Bal Jagat Jagdish Sukalikar, Chief Arbitor Umesh Panbude, Chief Organizer Prashant Deshpande, & Abhay Shrivastav and PCA President were the other guests and dignitaries.

Satish Belwalkar conducted the programme, while Prashant Deshpande briefed about the tournament. Nanaji Deshmukh Memorial Chess Tournament is said to be recognised by NDCA.

Ashish Naik introduced the Chief Guest to the audience. Dr Arti Singh in her inaugural speech told the participants about the importance of Sportsman spirit in life. 126 kids participatead in the tournament.

The kids were accompanied by their parents. Many kids were eager for the tournament to start. They were very excited and the enthusiasm was very evident by their animated speech and their talks with other co-participants.

Nagpur Today spoke to some children who said that they have participated in Chess competitions in their schools too. While some kids were pretty raw, others were skilled and knew their moves.

Chief Arbiter Umesh Panbude were assisted by Pravin Pantawane, Abhilash Vishwakarma, Sheetal Panbude.
