Nagpur’s Varad Malkhandale four year old spelling bee creates two national record

Varad-Malkhandale-nagpur-reNagpur: Four-year-old Varad Malkhandale has created three national records for himself. This wonder boy from the city has become the only child in the country to achieve this feat.

In an event organised by the India book of Record (IBR) on Sunday, Varad made the record for spelling 51 words correctly in one minute and another record for reverse counting of 100 to 0 in just 70 seconds.

Earlier on October 4, 2015, Varad had made a record of ‘Recognition of most car models in a minute’. Now after achieving 3 records Varad has become the only child in India who has created 3 national records at the age of 4 years.

Varad-Malkhandale-nagpurBorn on March 23, 2012, Varad is a KG-1 student of Narayana Vidyalaya. His father Bhushan Malkhandale is an engineer with the Public Works Department and his mother Ujjwala is an associate professor in Priyadarshni Engineering college.

IBR after the preliminary examination of Varad had allowed him to attempt the record. Considering his age, he was asked to count reverse 100 to 0 numbers in 90 seconds. But, Varad achievwed this feat in just 70 seconds. In his second record he was asked to spell 35 words correctly in one minute, but Varad made a record with telling 51 words correctly in one minute.

In the beginning, various pictures of things were shown to him on a projector and he was able to recognise and tell the names of 160 pictures.

IBR’s central India examiner Dr Sunita Dhote judged and examined the record by Varad. Director of Nairson’s Educational Institution Col UK Chembath and Principal of Narayana Vidyalaya Mala Chembath were chief guests of the event.

We are proud of Varad

The parents of Varad Bhushan and Ujjwala Malkhandale informed that Varad knows the spelling of big words by heart. He always very enthusiastic to know the spelling of marathi words and daily use things. You just have to tell him twice the spelling of the word and Varad memorizes the word. He always asks logical questions and he have learnt Sanskrit shlokas, National Anthem and Vande Matram by heart.

“The India book of Record (IBR) is a brilliant platform for talented persons. After we came to know about Varad’s talent, we asked his parents to start preparing him for record registration. Varad at very small age has made Nagpur proud,” said Dr Sunita Dhote.
