Nagpur: COLORS’ recently launched hospital drama Savitri Devi College and Hospital, produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms,traces the story of young medical intern Saachi Mishra (SwardaThigale) who strives to fulfil her mother Jaya’s (ShilpaShirodkar) dream of becoming a doctor. As Saachistruggles to impress Dr.Kabir (VikramSakhalkar) and Dr Malhotra (Mohan Kapur) through her hard work and medical skills,she finds herself at the helm of several adversities which often lead to conflicting situations. However, with her never say die attitude – Saachi continues to charge ahead and put her best foot forward at every juncture.

Speaking about portraying the character of Jaya Mishra, actor Shilpa Shirodkar said, “Savitri Devi College and Hospital is a fresh show where the hospital is a character in itself,having witnessed many secretsthat affectthe lives of other characters. For Jaya, Saachi is her pride; she has always dreamt that Saachi will work at Savitri Devi College and Hospitaland avenge her past that is attached to this hospital.”
Talking about her visit to Nagpur, she said, “Being a Marathi mulgi, I am thrilled to be in Nagpur today to interact with my fans and well-wishers here. The city and its people have always been very kind to me, and I am looking forward to tasting some authentic ‘tarripoha’ whilst here.”
Speaking about her character as Dr.Neeta Malhotra, actor Kishwer Merchant said, “Neeta Malhotrais an under-qualified yet overconfident nutritionist. She wants to see her husband Adarsh as the Chairman of Savitri Devi College and Hospital, but doesn’t know how to overturn Dr. Anand Malhotra’s influence over the place. For me, the experience of working on the show, so far, has been enriching. I am visiting Nagpur after a long time and hope to have a wonderful time. I look forward totake a piece of the city in the form of some yummy ‘SantraBarfi’ for my family back home.”
So far, viewers of Savitri Devi College and Hospital have seen Jaya (ShilpaShirodkar)deduce that Priya(Shruti Kanwar) is Savitri’s(Nishigandha Wad)daughter and decide that she will not let any injustice happen to her. Jaya also finds out about Saachi’sdisguise as Saachi Agarwal to gain an internship at the hospital. To explain Dr. Anand Malhotra’s harshness towards Saachi, Jayadecides to reveal the reason behind Dr. Malhotra’s animosity towards her father. Meanwhile, Priya finally agrees to marry Vikrant (Yuvraj Malhotra). Pleased with her decision,the Malhotrasstart preparing for the wedding.
