Nagpur: Although the much awaited ‘Earn and Learn’ scheme has been launched in Nagpur University, the number of students enrolling for the same remains far below the expectation even after 15 days. The last date to apply for registration is approaching viz. 21st September; only 190 applications have, nonetheless, been received as of now. The number is far less than the expectation which was at least 500.

Even though, three days are still left for the last date, university has not even received 200 applications. It is to be mentioned that, although, students had protested recently to increase the number of students involved in the scheme the applications remain lower than anticipation.

Students working under the scheme are to be provided an honorarium of rupees 50 per hour and are to work three hours a day. It is to be mentioned here that last year as well, 105 students availed a job under the scheme. The administration is aiming to make the appointment process faster as compared to last year.
