Nagpur: Registrations for Nagpur University’s yearly scheme ‘Earn and Learn’ will begin from 5th of September. Around 100 students will be given job opportunities in various departments of the university. The appointments will be done till 20th of September and the students will be given a job till April end.
Students working under the scheme are provided an honorarium of rupees 50 per hour and are to work three hours a day. It is to be mentioned here that last year as well, 105 students availed a job under the scheme. As informed by Dilip Kawadkar, Director, Students’ Welfare Department, the applications are under the process of printing as of now and will be distributed from 5th September. The enrolment process will continue for ten days. The administration is aiming to make the appointment process faster as compared to last year.
However, the students are demanding an employment for 500 students like in Pune University. Speaking on that Kawadkar has stated that the university is smaller as compared to Pune university and thus, does not have enough departments to accumulate that number of students.
