Nagpur Topper: Somalwar’s Aarushi Barapatre Scores 97.87% in HSC Exams

Nagpur: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) declared the Class 12 (HSC) results on Saturday, with girls once again outperforming boys in the Nagpur division. Despite a slight dip of 3.45% compared to last year, the overall result stood at 88.67%.

Out of 1,53,256 registered students, a total of 1,52,230 students appeared for the examination. Among them, 76,753 were boys and 75,477 were girls. A total of 65,167 boys passed (84.90%), while 69,821 girls cleared the exam with a higher pass percentage of 92.50%, continuing the trend of girls leading in performance.

Among top performers, Aarushi Barapatre from Somalwar School emerged as a standout, scoring an impressive 97.87% in the Science stream. In Commerce, Atithi Shende from Dr. Ambedkar College scored 96%, followed by Krishna Kulkarni with 95.5%. In Arts, Nandini Khapargadiya from Adarsh Vidyamandir secured 94.17%. Meanwhile, Ishan Galande from Sancheti Junior College scored 97% in Commerce, and Kunj Baise from Hislop College secured 95%.

District-wise performance saw Nagpur district topping the division with 91.66%, followed by Gondia (89.59%) and Chandrapur (88.72%), while Wardha recorded 87.52%.

In total, 1,34,988 students passed from the Nagpur division. The number of successful candidates includes 57,340 from Nagpur, 23,739 from Chandrapur, 13,927 from Bhandara, 13,585 from Wardha, 16,184 from Gondia, and 9,931 from Gadchiroli.

In the Amravati division, the overall result stood at 90.92%, slightly down by 0.41% from last year, but the division improved its ranking from fifth to third among nine divisions. Buldhana district topped Amravati division with 95.22%, followed by Washim, Akola, Yavatmal, and Amravati.

Overall, the results highlight consistent academic performance with girls leading the success rate, while Nagpur district emerged as the top-performing district in the division this year.
