Nagpur: Railway Board Chairman Lauds Fast Pace of Metro Work

Nagpur : Lauding Maha Metro Nagpur for its fast pace of work, Chairman, Railway Board Shri Ashwani Lohani was also full of praise for the unique architectural designs of Metro stations in the city. Such outstanding designs have not been created at any other metro stations in the entire country, Shri Lohani said during his visit to Maha Metro Nagpur project.

Member (Traffic), Railway Board Shri Girish Pillai and other officials accompanied the Chairman. Maha Metro MD Dr Brijesh Dixit explained the various facets of the project to Chairman and his team of officials during their visit. Shri Lohani inspected metro coaches, ticket counter, control room, AFC gates and other facilities at Airport South Metro Station.

Shri Lohani specifically praised the unique glass façade on the exterior side of the station. Earlier the Chairman also visited `Mahiti Kendra’ and ongoing construction of the proposed 20-storey Metro Station at Zero Mile. The international standard architecture of the Zero Mile station will definitely enhance the image of orange city, he said. The proposed heritage walk at this metro station will become a tourist attraction in future, he added.

He also visited other workplaces of the Nagpur Metro project. Shri Lohani appreciated the rapid pace with which metro project work has been undertaken.

Shri Lohani and his team of officials was here for the signing of MoU for Feeder Metro Train between Maha Metro, Railways and state government. The MoU was signed in presence of Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister of Transport Nitin Gadkari, Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and other ministers, public representatives and dignitaries.
