Nagpur rail division’s earnings up by Rs 194.90 crores

NagpurRailwayThe earnings of Nagpur division of Central Railway have gone up by Rs 194.90 crores during the fiscal ended on March 31, showing a rise of 7.7 per cent.

The total earnings in the last financial year were Rs 2,719.55 crores as compared to Rs 2,524.65 crores the previous year.

The revenue from freight was to Rs 2,199.38 crores in 2014-15 while it was Rs 2,069.79 crores in 2013-14, a release from Nagpur division of Central Railway said.

The earnings from passenger side were Rs 451.93 crores till March 31, as against Rs 391.16 crores in the previous year, showing an increase of 15.5 per cent, the release said.

Meanwhile, Nagpur division has bagged the coveted best performance inter-divisional shield of the General Manager of Central Railway for its electrical, operating, engineering and medical departments, on the occasion of Annual Railway Week, recently.

Nagpur shared the engineering shield with Solapur division and electrical and medical shield with Bhusawal division.

The Betul station in Nagpur-Itarsi section was adjudged as the best maintained station, the release added.
