Nagpur: A man allegedly killed his 28-year-old son following a heated argument between them over speaking loudly on a phone at a village within the jurisdiction of Bela Police Station in Nagpur, police said on Wednesday.
According to the police, Ramrao Kakde (50), a resident of Pipara, accused of murdering his son, Suraj (28), is a farmer by profession. His son was unemployed. On a Monday afternoon, following Holi celebrations, Ramrao, who had consumed alcohol, returned home around 3.30 pm, and was engaged in a telephone conversation while resting on a bed in the drawing room.
Suraj, also under the influence of alcohol, confronted his father saying he was talking too loudly on the phone. He asked his father to go outside and continue. Ramrao got angry at this and asserted, “This is my home.” This led to a heated argument between the two. In a moment of intense anger, Ramrao seized a steel rod and struck Suraj on the head. Suraj fell unconscious. He was rushed to the hospital, but succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.
Bela Police arrested Ramrao Kakde under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
