Nagpur Mahotsav adds green leaf to its glory; ‘Green Pledge’ for environment concerns

Nagpur based Green Vigil Foundation, an NGO working for environmental concern has been spreading awareness at NMC’s Nagpur Mahotsav being undertaken here. Members of this organisation are conducting a citizen outreach campaign for environment protection and sustainable development. The posters displayed at the stall by Green Vigil demonstrates various environmental issues like global warming, energy conservation, wild life protection, natural resource conservation, lake rejuvenation and so on.

Green Vigil Founder Dr. Kavita Rattan informed that the campaign is drawing huge response from Nagpurians. Already 500 citizens have taken and signed ‘Green Pledge’ towards green living, she added.

Mayor Anil Sole has been playing pivotal role to boost the members in their drive to educate citizens about the need of sustainable development.

Green PledgeGreen Vigil along with NMC has also introduced a leaflet elaborating on how common man can contribute towards natural resource conservation and pollution control. Being a technical team, 50 volunteers of Green Vigil are interacting with visitors and explaining technical aspects of various environmental issues.

Kaustav Chatterjee, co-founder , Green Vigil have appealed to Nagpurians to take green pledge and join the initiative towards Green living at Nagpur Mahotsav.

Members of Green Vigil, Daksha Borkar, Sandesh Sakhare, Surbhi Jaiswal,  Rahul Rathod, Snehal Patil, Mehul Kosurkar, Hemant Amesar, Nilesh Munghate, Kumaresh Tikadhar, Pragya Naidu, Shubham Yerkhede, Nazma Khan and others have been making their special efforts for the campaign.
