Nagpur: A case of alleged land fraud involving ₹66 lakh has been reported under Nandanvan police station limits in Nagpur. Three people have been booked for allegedly showing a man agricultural land that they did not own and using fake Aadhaar and PAN cards to facilitate the transaction.
According to the complaint, the accused allegedly collected lakhs of rupees from the complainant through cash and cheques by presenting the land deal as genuine.
3.49 Hectare Land Shown to Complainant
According to police, complainant Shivraj Thakre was looking to purchase agricultural land when he came into contact with the accused.
The accused allegedly showed him around 3.49 hectares of land bearing Survey No. 113 in the Mouza Bharatwada area along Katol Road.
They allegedly claimed that the property belonged to Anant Haribhau Kukde. The land deal was reportedly negotiated for approximately ₹1.31 crore.
Fake Aadhaar and PAN Cards Allegedly Prepared
As per the police complaint, accused Ganesh Dande, allegedly with the help of Hirasingh and Nana Nikose, prepared fake Aadhaar and PAN cards in the name of Anant Kukde.
Police suspect that the alleged forged identity documents and a bank account were used in connection with the purported fraudulent land transaction.
₹66 Lakh Allegedly Collected
The complainant alleged that the accused collected a total of ₹66 lakh from him through different payments, including cash and cheques, in connection with the land deal.
The alleged fraud came to light when the complainant subsequently learned about discrepancies concerning the ownership of the property and the documents presented during the transaction.
He then approached Nandanvan Police and lodged a complaint.
Three Accused Booked
Based on the complaint, Nandanvan Police registered an FIR against the three accused under relevant sections relating to cheating, forgery and the use of forged documents.
Police are currently examining the land records, financial transactions, bank account details and the alleged fake identity documents. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
