According to the police, Sachin Vinodkumar Raut, killed his live-in partner, Naznin (29) with a hammer, their 3-year-old son, Yug by poisoning or strangulation, and later died by suicide.

They said the bodies of the trio were discovered in their room by the staff of Golden Key Hotel located near Gajanan Colony in MIDC area of Nagpur. The hotel staff then informed the police who arrived at the scene and recovered the bodies.

Raut, a resident of Bhim Nagar, Isasani, was found hanging from the ceiling fan, while his live-in partner Naznin was found with a head injury and a blood-stained hammer lying nearby. No injuries were found on Yug’s body, police said.

A senior official, citing preliminary investigation, said Raut fatally attacked Naznin with the hammer before either poisoning or strangling the boy to death. Later, he hanged himself from the ceiling fan inside the hotel room.

Giving details, the police said that Sachin Raut, a truck driver by profession, was involved in an extra-marital affair with Naznin, originally a resident of Madhya Pradesh. Raut was already married and had two children with his wife, whom he never divorced yet started a live-in relationship with his lover, Naznin. The couple also had a child, a 3-year-old boy named Yug, whom Raut also murdered along with Naznin on Saturday night, the police said.

However, lately, Raut had started distancing himself from Naznin leading to frequent arguments between the couple and finally they had decided to part ways and stay separately, police said.

According to police, Raut later started avoiding Naznin. This led to frequent arguments between them. Finally, they decided to stay separately. On Friday, both signed a mutual agreement on a stamp paper of Rs 500 that they would stay separately. Police have seized the stamp paper for investigation.

On the fateful day, Raut, Naznin, and the boy checked in at the hotel in the afternoon, police said, adding that further investigation is on. Police have registered a case of murder against the deceased Raut.
