
Nagpur: In yet another shocking hit-and-run incident, a 72-year-old yoga instructor lost her life after being hit by a speeding car in the Dharampeth area of Nagpur early this morning. The accused driver fled the scene, and police have launched a search operation.
The deceased has been identified as Mangala Ramdaspant Kevte (72), a senior yoga teacher. According to reports, she was on her way to conduct her regular morning yoga class at Gajanan Maharaj Temple near Jhenda Chowk.
The accident occurred near the Sugandh Mangal Karyalaya junction, where a speeding Innova Crysta (registration number CG 07 DC 8616) hit her from behind with great force.
Due to the impact, she was thrown several feet away and died instantly on the spot. Eyewitnesses stated that the collision was so severe that she succumbed to her injuries before any help could arrive.
Police rushed to the scene upon receiving information, took custody of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. The entire incident has been captured on nearby CCTV cameras, and efforts are underway to trace the absconding driver.
This tragic incident once again highlights the growing concern over reckless driving and frequent violations of speed limits in the city, leading to a rise in fatal accidents.
