Nagpur: Bad news for the Nagpurians and rest of people in Vidarbha region! Contrary to the anticipation that monsoon will hit the parched lands of Nagpur on time, it has not got delayed.

However many of us must be in awe of good rains this year, but it appears to little far now.
Pre-monsoon rains have been bringing some respite from the scorching heat but the monsoon has been further delayed by another four days at least. The chances of it reaching some parts of Vidarbha by Monday are there. But it would depend on the advancement of the southwest monsoon further.

J R Prasad, the deputy director general of the regional meteorological centre (RMC), says that as per the national IMD, conditions are likely to become favourable for further advance of the monsoon into some more parts of Gujarat region, central Maharashtra, remaining parts of Marathwada, some parts of Vidarbha, some more parts of Chhattisgarh, Odisha, remaining parts of the West Bengal and some parts of Jharkhand and Bihar after 3-4 days.

First the RMC had predicted an early monsoon by June 8-10. Then due to stagnation of the limit of monsoon for a week or so the met office said that the monsoon was likely to arrive in Vidarbha by June 15. But on Thursday the IMD said that the monsoon was unlikely to reach Vidarbha for another 3-4 days.
