Nagpur guys make movie to show potential of ‘Lastbenchers’; Songs go viral on You-tube

Nagpur is certainly growing up on youth quotient and the young lot here is going all out to display their dimensions in almost every stream, be it academics, art or even ‘failures’! Though strange it may sound but it’s true that few boys of Nagpur have picked up the undertone about lastbenchers in classes or those failed in various walks of lives as theme and translated it into a movie called Lastbenchers. Extensively shot in various areas of Nagpur and patches of Vidarbha, the movie is made on miniscule budget but it the theme is conceptualized in an attractive way by the first timers, all from Nagpur. Without any formal training in various heads of movie making, the guys straightaway headed into the venture and pulled a catchy picture of all about Lastbenchers, in full ‘Nagpuri Ishtyle’. The music of the movie is out and making waves on internet. Till date, it got 2.5 lakh downloads of its songs, from You tube and other music sites.

Sanket Galactus the boy who could only manage to study upto 5th grade played the male protagonist in the movie while Tanveer Lonkar of Slumdog Millionaire fame (who acted as childhood Latika) is the female lead. Producer Er. Moreshwar Meshram produced it to generate employment for youngsters and Director, Actor, Writer, Editor and lyricist of the movie Prajakt Rebeloma trained every newbie to make a movie which can not only compete but can win the hearts of Audience.

The amazing part is everyone is making their debut in Bollywood with this movie. Actors, Director, Producer, Singers, Spotboys, Music director all are newbies. The songs and trailer of the movie can really aggravate the temptation to watch the movie the moment it hits the theaters. Well, best of luck to the team who has worked hard on this movie. Let’s wait and watch for the Day, it is going to hit this world of entertainment.

All set to hit the theatres on May 9 very soon. It would be one of the different kinds of movie to be seen by the young guns of central India – Nagpur.

The movie revolves around young students who remain backbenchers but end up doing really good while dealing with the hard realities of life. Many movies have showcased college life full of colors and glamour. Sport bikes, mini skirts and late night parties are common but what makes lastbenchers different is that you will not see any of those in this movie. Student life portrayed in this movie is close to reality from unhygienic bathroom, triple seat bikes and hostel parties where someone has to sleep hungry.

As far as the songs are concerned, they are funny, interesting and different than the usual songs that come along with today’s movies. It really speaks the heart of the teenagers or college students, right from talking about their daily chores to the masti and mischief they have over the students’ life. The video songs are available online, which can be downloaded easily in mp3 and other formats. A common student will easily connect, as the college they  see on silver screen will resemble the exact college they go everyday. In other words, you get enough reasons to catch the movie, when it is going to finally hit the theaters on May 9, 2014. We wish the guys all the good luck.
