Nagpur: A dedicated budget head will be created for the four-phase redevelopment of Deekshabhoomi during the upcoming Winter Assembly Session, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said on Saturday.
Bawankule reviewed the preliminary blueprint prepared by the Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) and said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had directed him to create a separate budget head for the project. An allocation of Rs 12 crore has already been made for the redevelopment.

15 Days for Suggestions
Bawankule said the preliminary blueprint would be circulated among members of the Deekshabhoomi Trust and local public representatives, including Ramtek MP Shyam Barve, for their suggestions.
Stakeholders will be given 15 days to submit their feedback. The plan will subsequently be finalised, with the final blueprint expected to be ready by October 5.
District and State-Level Meetings
The district-level committee is scheduled to meet on October 7 or 8, followed by a meeting of the state-level high-powered committee later in October.
The proposal will then be submitted to the committee headed by the Chief Minister for approval. Bawankule said additional funds would be made available depending on the requirements of the project.
Four-Phase Redevelopment Plan
According to the proposed plan, Phases 1 and 2 will focus on development works on land that is already available.
Phases 3 and 4, however, will require additional land currently owned by the Health Department and the Central Government.
