Nagpur News: The recent case of alleged molestation of a female student by a dance teacher has some finer facts than what meets the eye. A student of Priyanshu Dance Academy, located on Central Avenue road in Wardhaman Nagar, had recently lodged a complaint at Lakadganj police station that her dance teacher Pawan Gurung aka Priyanshu Thakur had molested her on August 30 when they were in the lift of the building. Pawan was arrested upon girl’s complaint under various relevant sections of the IPC. However cops ignored minute investigation into the entire case. Pawan was later released on the bail over personal security bond of Rs 10,000.
Pawan is an ace dancer and had appeared in couple contests including Dance Maharashtra and also Dance India aired on Zee TV. In an exclusive chat with Nagpur Today Pawan narrated other side of the story. It may be mentioned that the report to this effect was flashed in Nagpur Today on September 2.
Pawan has rubbished the allegation terming it as the part of conspiracy against him. He recalled the concerned girl joined his institute on August 26. He said, “an initial advance fee of Rs 5000 was paid by her. I had once objected her for coming to dance classes scantily clad. And what came next was that she suddenly lodged a “false” complaint against me. She has cited the incident happened when she was going to purchase chewing gum. The complaint is totally false. It is well-planned conspiracy to defame me. To some extent the girl has succeeded in defaming me, my sister and family. My dance classes have been deserted by other students out of fear. Now, my earning has taken a toll,” said Pawan.
Pawan is contemplating filing a defamation suit against the girl. He even raised suspicion over cops’ action in the entire episode. The Lakadganj police had registered an FIR immediately after some top senior officials directed them to do so as the girl had met them.
Girl gone underground
Meanwhile, the girl who lodged molestation charges against Pawan has gone underground. Lakadganj police have been waiting for the girl for further investigation and questioning to her in the matter. Now, police, too, are suspecting the veracity of the complaint, sources said. The girl had informed police about her house address in Khaparkheda. The girl had mentioned the timing of the molestation as 5.30 pm of August 30 and the complaint was lodged the next day in the night. The girl had allegedly sent an SMS to Pawan expressing her happiness over joining the dance class. However, Pawan took the SMS as usual and neglected it. The girl had claimed molestation in the lift during the 30-40 seconds the lift usually takes to touch ground floor from the fourth floor where Pawan’s institute is located. A camera has also been installed in front of the lift on the ground floor. The camera has captured the girl’s movements. The camera shows the girl arrived at 5.20 pm to attend dance class and leaving the lift at 6.58 pm. The girl appears normal at both the times. Interestingly Pawan got married out of love affair just a month ago. Pawan alleged that he has been receiving threats since he got married.
Girl’s address not found
Moreover, the girl had given her house address of Khaparkheda. Police found themselves helpless in tracing the girl’s house in the preliminary investigation. The girl had not provided the police her mobile number. The mobile, from which the girl had sent SMS to Pawan, has been switched off since the incident day. The mobile number belongs to some other person.
