Nagpur: Ritika alias Ritu Dinesh Malu (39) filed a bail plea in the district and sessions court on Wednesday, September 25, following the Ram Jhula Mercedes accident case. As a result of the court’s decision, Ritika Malu’s path to bail has been cleared.
The hearing was chaired by Justice R.S. Patil (Bhosale). Initially, the tehsil police had registered a case against Malu on February 25, 2024, and on the same day, she was granted bail by a first-class judicial magistrate.
Families affected by Malu’s arrest are now hoping for swift action through legal proceedings. This case has garnered significant public attention, ensuring the court’s careful consideration of denying bail to the accused Malu.
Meanwhile, the tragic incident occurred on the Ram Jhula railway overbridge in Nagpur on the night of February 25, where Ritika Malu and her friends were at CP Club. During the late-night hours, while returning home in a Mercedes car, Ritika accelerated on Ram Jhula, causing a fatal collision with two young men, Mohammad Husain and Mohammad Atif Mohammad Jia, resulting in their deaths.
