The move will facilitate free movement of Metro commuters to any of the two railway stations without using any other mode of transport.

Recently, the Rail India Technical & Economic Service (RITES) had submitted Detail Project Report (DPR) of proposed second phase of ‘Majhi Metro’ project in Nagpur. It will boost transport facilities in rural area of Nagpur district. The Phase II covers the rural parts of Nagpur district and will serve as an extension to the ongoing first phase. RITES has served as consultant for preparation of the DPR and has submitted the same after studying all aspects concerning the second phase. The proposed Phase will be spread over 48.3 km length with 35 stations.

The first phase of Maha Metro Nagpur is progressing well and as per scheduled timelines. Phase I has four corridors of 41.7 Km length with a total of 40 stations. Thus, once Phase II is completed, the city and district will collectively have a total metro network of about 89 Km with 73 stations. This will enable easy, faster and comfortable journey form one part of Nagpur to other.

Now, the plan to connect Nagpur and Ajni Railway Stations to Metro stations through FOBs will boost connectivity. This will enable easy, faster and comfortable journey from one part of Nagpur to other.
