Nagpur: He is a film director, producer, screenwriter and actor par excellence, No doubt he has been titled as a versatile personality and known for his works predominantly in Bollywood film industry. Nagesh Kukunoor with team of Producer, Musicians etc were in the city to promote his upcoming movie “Dhanak” (The Rainbow).
While speaking about the upcoming movie, Nagesh Kukunoor said that family is like branches of tree they may grow in different direction yet their roots remain as one. He compared the team Dhanak with the tree and branches. The actors playing the Lead role in the movie include Hetal Gada and Krrish Chhabria. Director and Script-Writer is Nagesh Kukunoor while the Producer is Elahe Hiptoola and Music Composer is Tapas Relia.
All of them were in the city along with Nagesh Kukunoor for movie promotion and all of them displayed a unique “oneness”.
Dhanak is a story of a girl named Pari (played by Hetal Gadda) who promised her little blind brother Chotu (played by Krrish Chhabria) that she’ll help to get his eyesight back before he turns 10-years of age. The story revolves around the journey and the challenges faced by Pari in her struggle for her brother. Dhanak had already impressed many at various prestigious film festivals including at Berlin where it bagged big honors.
While speaking to media personnel Nagesh Kukunoor said that Dhanak will now be adapted into a novel by award-winning children’s author, Anushka Ravishankar. When asked about how he chose the actors and the casting per se, he said that he was looking for natural actors who can face the camera without fear and be comfortable in delivering the dialogues. Out of nearly 500 persons who appeared for auditions, he selected Hetal and Krrish who perfectly suited for the role. His selection was obviously good since they made a good pair on screen as well as off the screen. Nagesh Kukunoor also claimed that “Dhanak” is filled with colors, magic, music, spontaneity and a plenty of emotions.
While answering to a query on his role in the movie, Krrish Chhabria said that he visited blind school and observed them keenly in order to play the role well and do justice to the role in the movie. Lead child actress Hetal Gada shared her experiences which she had undergone during the shooting of the film. She claimed that she had fun with Chet Dixon (Musician) while shooting for the song “Dum A Dum”, she taught him Hindi since he was weak in Hindi.
The movie is definitely a must see one.
