Nagpur: Union Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment Ramdas Athawale on Saturday said that his ministry was committed to ensure overall development of deprived sections of society. “The downtrodden and deprived people will get social justice as well as economic justice. My ministry is making all efforts to achieve the goal,” Athawale stated while addressing a press conference held at Ravibhavan here.
“My ministry works for uplift of 80 percent of country’s population comprising scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, other backward classes, Divyang, senior citizens and other needy people,” Athawale said and highlighted various schemes being implemented for different sections of people. The backward class students are provided post-matric, pre-matric scholarships for higher education. There is a move to hike the scholarship money. Divyang persons are distributed with various assistive tools through special camps organized across the country, the Minister asserted.
Athawale further said that he himself and Central Government are leaving no stone unturned to ensure overall development of Nagpur City as well as entire Vidarbha.
