What is remarkable in respect of each of these students is that they belong to utterly poor background, surviving in financial stress, lacking basic amenities, and yet excelling in their academic performance, pushing behind many of their well facilitated as well as fortuitous counterparts. Their parents are casual workers and can hardly afford for the education of their wards. Adding a feather to the cap of NMC administration, Kamal Sahu happens to be the first topper in NMC-run schools of Maharashtra, as informed by his school principal, Farooq Sir. The Nagpur Today special correspondent Sam Gunshekharan lauded the students for their remarkable achievement.
When Nagpur Today spoke to them in order to know their ambitions in life, Aparna Amnerkar said that she would like to become an IAS officer, while Kamal Sahu said that he would like to become an engineer and Ram Behari Jha said that he would like to join NDA or CDS.

After their felicitation, the students were provided counselling and aptitude test for each one was held under the guidance Ramanand Wandile, who conducted their tests and certified their competence as per their wishes.
