Nagpur: Renowned music director Ravindra Jain who has been undergoing treatment at Wockhart hospital in Nagpur was airlifted to Mumbai on Wednesday morning by a chartered air ambulance for treatment at Lilavati Hospital. It may be mentioned that Ravindra Jain came to Nagpur on Sunday to participate in a concert but eventually fell sick due to very low blood pressure and urinary septicemia.

He was first admitted at Platina Heart Care Hospital run by Dr Pramod Mundra, cardiologist. But when his condition worsened he was shifted to Wockhardt Hospital on Tuesday. Experiencing no improvement in his condition, his relatives took him to Mumbai, sources said.

Doctors at Wockhardt, Dr Ajay Sakhare , critical care expert, and Dr Suryashree Pandey, a nephrologist, who were treating him there said his condition was very critical. So his family members, wife, Diya, and brother, Manindra, who had come to city after Jain took ill insisted that they would take him to Mumbai.

The air ambulance had reached Nagpur on Tuesday night itself but the composer was taken from Wockhardt on Wednesday morning. His son- in-law, Sanjay Jain, who is the CEO of the Zilla Parishad at Wardha (about 90 km from city) had come to visit him on Tuesday at Wockhardt. On Wednesday, his wife and brother took him from Wockhardt to airport at 8 am.
