Murder accused murdered brutally by 2 goons in full public view in Yashodhara Nagar

: A youth, arrested in a murder case but released on bail a month ago, was murdered brutally by two criminals ostensibly to settle score in broad daylight and full public view in Yashodhara Nagar area here on Wednesday. Both the accused have been arrested.

The deceased has been identified as Praveen Shankar Lanjewar (22), a resident of Fukat Nagar. According to reports, the deceased Praveen had indulged in a brawl with the two accused namely Fardeen Khan Mujib Khan alias Sher Khan (20) and Sheikh Sameer Sheikh Ramzan alias Babu (20), both residents of Indiramata Nagar, near Vishakha School, Yashodhara Nagar, a few days ago. The two accused, it seems, were waiting for an opportunity to settle score with Praveen. On Wednesday, around 2.45 pm, the accused Fareen Khan and Sheikh Sameer accosted Praveen at a paan thela near Shitla Mata Mandir, Kanji House Square under jurisdiction of Yashodhara Nagar Police Station, and attacked him with knives inflicting stab injuries on his chest and neck. Praveen collapsed and died on the spot. The daylight murder was witnessed by many bystanders at the spot.

Eye-witnesses immediately informed police about the bloody incident. A team from Yashodhara Nagar Police Station reached the spot and sent the body to Mayo Hospital for post mortem after conducting panchnama. It is learnt that the deceased Praveen Lanjewar was one among nine accused in a murder case. He was arrested in December 2016 for his involvement in murder of Ravi Satpaise. He was released on bail a month ago.

Yashodhara Nagar API P J Bawankar, based on a complaint lodged by Chetan Madanlal Suryavanshi (19), booked both the accused under Sections 302, 34 of IPC and placed them under arrest. Further probe is on.
