Nagpur:
The controversial BJP Corporator Munna Yadav is again in the limelight for his son’s outrageous acts. A brawl erupted between Munna Yadav’s activists and supporters of Shiv Sena leader Panju Totwani on Independence Day. The “fighting” on the busy road not only hassled the common people but made mockery of rules and regulations. The celebration of a patriotic occasion crossed all limits of decency. The dispute has now reached the doors of police station with both the parties blaming each other.

According to Panju Totwani, the supporters of Munna Yadav reached Khamla Square in a rally and started hurling abuses on Shiv Sena activists who were standing on the roadside. “During this unsavoury incident I was in a temple nearby and rushed to the spot when informed about the incident. I tried to calm down the situation. The entire blame for this fracas lies on Munna Yadav,” Totwani said.

On the other hand, the BJP Corporator Munna Yadav countered Totwani’s claim and said that his supporters were peacefully standing on the left side of the road and the Shiv Sena activists were on right side. When both came face to face, the supporters of Totwani indulged in abusing and taunting his men. Soon the fracas reached a boiling point. “Media is flashing the pictures of my supporters blocking the road and climbing atop a Star Bus. It is absolutely false and wrong as well. In fact, Totwani’s supporters climbed up the bus and danced atop the roof. The act has nothing do with either my son or my supporters. I have even registered a case against Panju Totwani with Pratap Nagar Police Station,” Munna Yadav said in a bid to save his son and supporters.

However, a case has been registered against Munna Yadav’s supporters with Dhantoli Police Station. Police have booked Darshan Palakwar, a supporter of Yadav, under Section 136 of Mumbai Police Act for violating the terms and conditions of rally permission. According to police, the rally was permitted to traverse from Dhantoli to Futala Lake via Ambazari road. But it went in the opposite direction and reached Khamla. Commenting on police version, Munna Yadav said he had taken permission from Special Branch of Police which allows rally to be taken out in any part of the city.
