It appears Arjun Rampal and controversies are going hands in glove for quite some time. First he was being blamed for the divorce between Hrithik Roshan and Suzanne, then he caught limelight for his alleged closeness with his Roy co-star Jacqueline Fernandez, but now he has caught the attention of Mumbai police for something serious this time. Arjun has been summoned by the Mumbai police for meeting jailed gangster Arun Gawli last month. The JJ Marg police station received information that the actor met Gawli at JJ Hospital. Arjun, who plays Gawli in under-production film ‘Daddy’, spent close to an hour with the don in the hospital’s Out-patient Department on December 29 last year.
The actor, apparently, did not have permission to meet the gangster, who is serving a life term in connection with the murder of corporator Kamlakar Jamsandekar in 2008. Gawli was brought to the hospital for a routine check-up and was in judicial custody when he met Rampal.
An internal inquiry has also been ordered against the team of policemen who had accompanied Gawli to the hospital from Navi Mumbai’s Taloja jail.
