Mukul Wasnik bereaved, Sonia, Bawankule condol

Nagpur: Senior Congress leader Mukul Wasnik is bereaved over the demise of his father Balkrishna Wasnik, who breathed his last at 2 pm on Sept 10. His funeral procession will take place by 10 am on Sept 11, to Ambazari Ghat.

Congress President, Smt. Sonia Gandhi has condoled the passing away of veteran party leader Shri Bal Krishna Wasnik. Recalling his long record in public service and in Parliament, Smt. Gandhi said that Shri Wasnik’s commitment to the cause of people in general and weaker sections of the society in particular was unwavering.Extending her condolences to his son, Congress General Secretary, Shri Mukul Wasnik, Smt. Gandhi said that the entire party stood with him in this moment of deep personal loss.

“Demise of former Member of Parliament,  Balkrishna Wasnik has caused an irreparable loss to the world of education and labour, for he had been dedicated to the cause of uplift of the downtrodden in terms of their education and labour. He had launched successful movements to seek justice for labourers and reservation for Dalits, and vehemently raised their issues in the Lok Sabha in democratic manner.  His social contribution will be always remembered,” said Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule in his condolence message on the demise of Balkrishna Wasnik today.He further said, the departed had also worked with dedication as a worker of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Samata Sainik Dal. As a Congress MP, he had represented Bhandara and Buldhana constituencies, and he was staunch supporter of Vidarbha, he added.
