MT-CET to be held on May 16, NEET on May 5

Nagpur News : The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) has declared examination dates of Maharashtra technology Common Entrance Test (MT-CET) and first National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET). MT-CET is scheduled to be held on May 16 while NEET will be held on May 5.

NEET is the first medical entrance test on national level for admissions in MBBS and BDS courses across the country. Medical Council of India will conduct this examination. Whereas MT-CET is replaced by Maharashjtra health Technology Common Entrance Test (MH-CET) for admissions in engineering, pharmacy and health sciences courses across the country.

The Maharashtra DTE issued notification for MT-CET 2013 to be held on May 16. Students aspiring for engineering and pharmacy degree courses will now have to pass this test for admissions.

M M Morve, Additional Secretary to State Department of Higher and Technical Education recently issued a Government Resolution declaring that the State Director of Technical Education will be the competent authority for MT-CET 2013. Until last year, Director of Medical Education and Research was the authority for MH-CET. The DTE would late take over as the regulatory authority for the centralized admission process to engineering and pharmacy courses.
