Nagpur: A Senior Clerk working in Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) office in Wardha Division was trapped by Nagpur Unit of Anti-Corruption Bureau red-handed while demanding bribe of Rs 2000 from a fellow employee who was facing Departmental Enquiry.

According to details, the complainant employee, who has not been identified, faced a Departmental Enquiry. Upon conclusion of the enquiry, the accused Senior Division Clerk Dilip Ambadas Panchgade working in Wardha Divisional Office of MSRTC demanded bribe of Rs 2000 from the complainant in order to recommend lesser punishment to him. However, instead of meeting Panchgade’s bribe demand, the fellow employee approached the ACB in Nagpur and lodged a complaint.

Armed with the complaint, the ACB sleuths laid a trap in Wardha office. During the trap, the cops found the Senior Clerk Dilip Panchgade demanding bribe of Rs 2000 from the complainant. However, the accused Panchgade sensed trouble and avoided acceptance of the bribe amount. But his demand for the bribe was enough reason for ACB to arrest him under Sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.

A team of ACB led by Deputy SP Swapnil Dhule with PI Anirudha Puri, and constables Pradeep Deshmukh, Sanjay Kallarkar, Kunal Dange, Roshan Nimbalkar took the action under guidance of SP Rajeev Jain.
