Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan breaks fast
Mandsaur: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is likely to visit Mandsaur tomorrow and meet the families of the five farmers killed in police firing.

The Chief Minister, who had gone on an indefinite fast to calm frayed tempers of the farmers demanding loan waivers and remunerative prices for their produce, announced a slew of schemes for their benefit but issued a stern warning to those who engaged in ‘incendiary activities’.

NDTV reports that no FIR has been filed against the policemen responsible. In fact, the police has registered 46 FIRs over the farmer unrest in Mandsaur district and all of them pertain to acts of arson and violence by protesters. Not a single case has been lodged against the police.

The government compensation of Rs 1 crore to the families of the farmers killed, is also stuck with the district collector saying only Rs 4 lakh compensation can be released.
