MLC Elections: In fear of ‘Horse-Trading’, Nagpur BJP sends its corporators to Goa

Nagpur: Anticipating the ‘Horse-Trading’ in the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC) Elections, the city unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has started to send its corporators on ‘picnic’.

The aims to avoid cross voting in MLC elections (local authorities’ constituency) slated on December 10.

According to sources, the sum of 26 corporators were sent to Goa by flight at 1.45am on Monday. Ruling Party Leader in Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) Avinash Thakre hosted dinner for them at a hotel on Wardha road and supervised at the airport till they board flight.

A group of women corporators from BJP will leave for Vaishno Devi pilgrimage in morning followed by another group to Goa in night. These corporators will travel to Mahabaleshwar from Goa and return on December 8.

Four times corporator from BJP Dr Ravindra ‘Chotu’ Bhoyar left BJP and joined Congress. He is contesting from Congress. Therefore, BJP is taking all efforts to prevent from cross voting. BJP is having a clear majority in this election and former minister Chandrashekar Bawankule is the candidate.
