Nagpur: In a disturbing case reported from the MIDC Police Station area, a minor girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a youth who lived as a tenant in her house. The accused reportedly lured the victim with a false promise of marriage. The girl is now four months pregnant.
Police have identified the accused as Kunal Thakre, who had been residing as a tenant at the victim’s house. The 16-year-old victim, originally from Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh, currently lives with her family in the MIDC area of Nagpur.

According to the complaint, the incident began on January 5, 2026, when the girl was alone at home. The accused allegedly established physical relations with her without her consent under the pretext of marriage. The abuse reportedly continued until April 30, 2026, during which the victim became pregnant.
The matter came to light after the family discovered her pregnancy, following which a complaint was lodged at MIDC Police Station. Acting swiftly, police registered a case under rape charges and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and arrested the accused.
Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
