Nagpur: A shocking case has emerged from Nagpur’s Kotwali police station area, where two 17-year-old minor athletes allegedly stole nearly ₹90,000 from a medical store to fund their steroid addiction. The incident has raised serious concerns not only about juvenile crime but also about the illegal sale of steroids through local pharmacies.
CCTV Footage Exposes Theft
According to police, the medical store owner had repeatedly noticed cash going missing from the shop’s counter drawer and eventually approached Kotwali Police with a complaint. During the investigation, CCTV footage from the store was examined, which allegedly showed the two minors stealing money from the drawer.
Based on the evidence, police registered a case and launched an investigation.
Crime Branch Reveals Steroid Addiction Angle
During questioning by Crime Branch Unit-3, the two accused reportedly confessed that they were athletes and had been consuming steroids to improve stamina and physical performance. Investigators found that the teenagers were allegedly purchasing steroids from a medical store in the Juni Shukrawari area.
Police said the boys admitted they began stealing cash from the same store because they needed money to continue buying steroids. Authorities estimate that around ₹90,000 had been stolen over a period of time.
Questions Raised Over Illegal Steroid Sales
The case has also put the spotlight on the role of the medical store. Investigators suspect that steroids may have been sold to the minors without any valid medical prescription, which could amount to a serious violation of pharmaceutical regulations.
The role of the medical store operator is now under scrutiny as police investigate whether illegal steroid sales were taking place.
Minors Handed Over to Parents
After preliminary questioning, both minors were handed over to their parents. Further investigation into the theft and alleged illegal steroid distribution is currently underway by Kotwali Police.
