MIHAN, Metro Rail, other projects in Nagpur & Vidarbha get Budget boost

Nagpur: The Maharashtra Budget presented on Wednesday has provided Nagpur and Vidarbha the moments of delight as it focused on slew of measures and gave the development a major push. The MIHAN, Metro Rail among other projects received boost in the 2015-16 Budget presented by Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar in Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.
Highlights of Budget:
• A provision of Rs 200 crore for land acquisition & rehabilitation of MIHAN project.
• Nagpur and Pune metro rail project to get Rs 197 crore and 174 crore respectively
• For development of Pharmaceutical Science, National Pharmaceutical Science Education and Training Institute to be established in Nagpur.
• Medical Colleges at Nagpur, Pune, Aurangabad, Akola, Ambajogai, Beed, Solapur, Nanded, Miraj,  Sangli, Dhule, Yavatmal and Latur to be upgraded for Post Graduation.
• Indian Administration Pre Service Training Centers at Nagpur and Kolhapur to be strengthened.
• Nagpur, Amaravati, Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Aurgangabad to get 125 crore  for renovation of Bus Stands &16Cr for purchase of new S.T. Bus
• Akola, Shirdi, Karad, Amaravati, Sholapur to get 91 Crore for development & maintenance of Airport & Airstrips.
• Tadoba Andhari Tiger Project,Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Gorewada Zoo to be developed on the lines of international Forest tourism destinations like MasaiMara. A provision of Rs. 191 Cr made for this purpose Social Forestry Department to develop Late Uttamrao Patil Forest Park in each district.
• For industrial development of state an innovative project Make In Maharashtra to be launched.
• Rs. 600Cr for Maharashtra Golden Jubilee Urban Upliftment Mega mission (Maharashtra Suvarn Jayanti Nagarothan Maha Abhiyan).
• A provision of Rs 80 Crore for the Maharashtra Sujal & Nirmal Abhiyan ( Water Supply & Sanitation Scheme) for urban areas.
• Rs. 320 crore earmarked for implementation of the ambitious Swaccha Bharat Abhiyan of the Central Govt.
• To ensure inclusion of cities in state under Smart City scheme of Central Govt. A provision of Rs. 268Cr is made this year
• Provision of Rs. 109 Crore for Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Metro Line -3 through Special Purpose Vehicle.
• A target to construct 1 Lakh houses under various housing schemes. A provision Rs 884Cr for this purpose for the year 2015-16.
• Each BPL beneficiary to get up to Rs 50000 for purchasing piece of land for construction of house under this scheme.
• This scheme will aid BPL families to purchase land to construct house under different housing schemes of Govt.
• Pt.Dindayal Upadhyay Gharkul Jaga Kharedi Arthsahayya Yojana-New scheme to provide financial help to the beneficiaries of BPL families
• Rs 900 Crore marked for Hydro Electric Power Projects in the year 2015-16
• Infra-2 Scheme declared for infrastructure development of the Electricity Distribution. Rs 538 Crore marked as State share
• 1000 Villages to be covered in next 5 years under Amdar Aadarsh Gaav Yojana scheme.
• State to launch Amdar Aadarsh Gaav Yojana(MLA Model Village Scheme) on lines of Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana of Central Govt
• Rs. 3213 Crore marked for completion of 5100 km roads in the year 2015-2016
• Rs. 861 Crores for Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana
• To maintain quality of roads under CM Rural Road scheme default liability raised to 5 years from 6 months.
• Provision of Rs. 1413 Crore for CM Rural Road project in addition to 1000 crore as outlay.
• Chief Minister Rural Road Scheme: An ambitious project for development of rural roads.
