Nagpur: The Mihan project affected people ( PAPs) have been long demanding rehabilitation and increased compensation, however a new issue has increased their woes. They were thinking to get their demands met through road linking wardha road and shivangaon. But Maharashtra Airport Development Company(MADC ) has decided to close this road. Now, residents of Shivangaon have threatened to stop the work ‘Taxi-way’.
From wednesday morning onwards the PAP” have started dharna at’Taxi way”. Many women folk are participating in huge numbers in the dharna agitation. PAP Amol Wankhede and Chetan Ganar said that the 99 per cent work of MRO and Taxi-way has completed. However, no work is being done at the rehabilitation land. No concern is being shown for increased PAPs compensation also.
They further said that those who got less compensation were assured of good package. But still nothing is being done for them. If gate is put up at the Taxi-way then government will not bother about the PAPs any more. The closure of this road will also affect their daily employment route.
The PAPs also claimed that they are not getting work here. And people migrating from other states are getting work here.
