With the rising incidents of sexual harassment at work places, Nagpur Today has initiated a drive to make the institutions and business establishments set up sexual harassment redressal committee as per Supreme Court’s guidelines. Continuing in the series of such incidents, yet another case came to the fore in which a 48-year-old woman has been molested in a college staff room. The incident happened on July 28 under the jurisdiction of Nandanvan police station.

Sources said the 48-year old woman, a teacher by profession, was present in the staff room of a private college on July 28. Shyam Kashinath Ane (44), a resident of Anand Palace, Bhande Plot Square, made indecent gestures before the victim. The accused also sent obscene text messages and also wrote indecent letters. The accused also threatened to kill her if she narrates the incident to anyone. However, the woman gathered courage and approached Nandanvan police on Friday and lodged a complaint against Shyam. Cops have registered an offence under Sections 354 (a) and 506 of the IPC.
