Middle-aged man, an epilepsy patient, murdered in Dhantoli

: A middle-aged man, reportedly suffering from epilepsy, was murdered by a goon over a petty issue near All India Reporter in Dhantoli on Monday night.

The deceased, Ashwin Punaram Khandate (42), was a resident of Takia. A painter by profession, Khandate was reportedly suffering from epilepsy. Around 7.45 pm on Monday, Khandate was returning home. As he reached near All India Reporter, the accused Naresh Bhimrao Meshram, who also was passing by, picked a quarrel with Khandate over a petty issue. After the verbal duel, Naresh punched him on his chest and fled the spot. Khandate was rushed to GMCH where doctors declared him dead around 8.30 pm. The body was sent for autopsy.

Dhantoli PSI B R Zadokar, on the basis of a complaint lodged by deceased’s wife Vidya Ashwin Khandate, has booked the accused Naresh Meshram under Section 302 of the IPC and searching for him.
