MIDC police bust gang of 5 robbers planning dacoity

Nagpur: Acting on a tip-off, MIDC police busted a gang of five armed robbers planning dacoity in Isasani area on Tuesday night. Cops have also seized a sword, nylon rope, chili powder and other materials from the possession of the arrested accused.

During the night patrolling duty, ASI Dhore of MIDC Police Station received secret information about the gang assembled at a dark place in a vacant ground opposite Isasani Sumangal Vihar around 8.20 on Tuesday. Acting swiftly on the information, the squad of MIDC police rushed to the spot and surrounded the gang of five suspects. On being confronted with the reason behind assembling at the secluded dark place, the accused failed to give any satisfactory reply. Following this cops searched them and found a sword, nylon rope, chili powder in their possession likely to be used for a planned dacoity.

The arrested accused have been identified as Deepak Singh alias Kalya Sunil Singh (27), resident of Bhimnagar Slums, near Hanuman Mandir, Balendra Radhelal Maneshwar (28), of Ramnagar, Sainala, district Jabalpur, Deepak Pratap Bisht (36), resident of Bakshi Layout, Wadi, Shiv Pancheshwar, resident of Bhimnagar, MIDC, and Suraj alias Anda, resident of IC Square, MIDC.

MIDC police have booked all the accused under Sections 399, 402 of the IPC read with Sub-Section 4/25 of the Indian Arms Act and Section 135, 142 of the Maharashtra Police Act.
