MIDC police busted vehicle lifters

The Detection Branch (DB) squad of MIDC police busted a two-member gang of vehicle lifters and recovered 3 two-wheelers stolen from different areas.

The painstaking task got activated when a complainant Pramod Gajanan Khedkar (59), resident of Yadav Nagar in Yashodhara Nagar area told police that his Activa moped (MH-49/A 0723) was stolen when he had parked it near his shop Ritesh Jewellers at IC Square on 21.5.2016.

Subsequently, after registering a case, cops launched a detailed probe for a clue. The investigation led to the conclusion of cops that an old hand could have been involved in the vehicle theft. Finally, the police succeeded in arresting the main accused Rajnish alias Bhaja Ramesh Deotale (21), native of Hinganghat. The stolen Activa was also recovered from him.

During the PCR period, Rajnish confessed stealing a Splendour motorcycle (MH-40/W9325) from parking slot of Raisoni College, Hingna Road on 28.7.2016 and another two-wheeler from Lata Mangeshkar Hospital premises on 8.6.2016. All the three stolen vehicles, hidden at a secluded place coming under MIDC police jurisdiction, were recovered by the cops. Similarly, another accused and accomplice of Rajnish named Pushparaj Natthulal Baghel (28) of Koradi had stolen a Yamaha motorcycle (MH-36/T 9768) from near YCC College on 22.8.2016. The accused Pushparaj too was arrested and the bike was recovered from him.

The task was carried out by API Shiurkar, constables Arvind Mohod, Pravin Nagdive, Pappu Yadav, Vinod Kamble, Subhash Dupare, Vicky Meshram, and Ishant Aate under the directives and guidance of DCP Zone 1 Deepali Masirkar, ACP Rajratan Bansod, Senior PI Manikrao Nalavade and Ravindra Raul.
