MIDC cops apprehended huge cache of liquor worth Rs 1, 31, 100/- meant for Holi

Liqour SeizedNagpur: With cricket mania and Holi festival fast approaching, many other allied illegal business including betting, bookie, illegal liquor or drugs do brisk business on the sly in the city. Ahead of the cricket match between India and New-Zealand and ahead of the Holi festival, a large cache of illegal liquor was apprehended by the police officials of MIDC Police Station. The cops apprehended four youth with a huge stock of Indian Made foreign liquor worth thousands of rupees on March 14, 2016.

The arrested four bootlegger youth have been identified as

  1. Rajesh Amrik Singh Jat aged 40 years and a resident of Kaithat-Amargad, Ganti District Haryana and a resident of a rented house of Narayan Muje on the West Side of Madhavnagari.
  2. Anand Arjanlal Yadav aged 20 years and a resident of Gawlipura, Dharampeth Nagpur.
  3. Adarsha Arjanlal Yadav aged 19 years and a resident of Gawlipura, Dharampeth Nagpur.
  4. Suraj Sheshrao Gaurkhede aged 23 years and a resident of Dharampeth.

According to police sources, the cops who were patrolling the MIDC area received a secret tip off that illegal liquor is stored in the rented house of Narayan Muje.

When the cops ascertained that the tip off was right, they raided the premises adnd found 2300 bottle of 90 ml of Officers Choice liquor worth Rs 131, 100/- (Rs one lakh thirty one thousand and one hundred). When they arrested the four youth and questioned them, they found that they did not have any permission of license to sell the liquor.

The MIDC Police have seized the 2300 bottle of 90 ml of Officers Choice liquor worth Rs 131, 100/- and have arrested the four accused under Section 65 (E) of Maharashtra Liquor Prohibition Act.

The seizure and arrest of the accused was taken under the directions of Senior Police Inspector Vishnu Bhoye, Second Police Inspector R S Raoul by Assistant Police Inspector P K Shirurkar, Assistant Police Inspector Vinod Godbole, Head Constable Pappu Yadav, Vijay Nimade, Vinod Kadve, NPC Dilip Thakre and Police Constable Atul Tikle.
