    Mid Night Shootout at Hawarapeth – 5-6 round bullet fired, No one hurt

    Nagpur: Gang war seemed to enter the Nagpur city on Thursday when 8-10 men  shot at criminal. The incident took place at around 11:45pm in Hawarapeth under Ajani Police Station jursdication.

    The victim, Amol Mehar is criminal who has two cases under Arms acts and one murder case against him. Sources claimed gangster Girjiya Lonare, Golya Borkar, Guddu Nikhare and another identified as Sourav, tried to eliminate Amol Mehar. Police have so far recovered four empty cases and a live cartridge from the place. Mehar claimed before police that attackers had come in two cars and Lonare and Borkar had used the firearms.

    It’s learnt that Mehar, held in a murder case at Beltarodi last year, has been released on bail around a month ago. Mehar had been trying to establish his dominance in the locality where Borkar has been already reigning after being released from jail. Borkar was also held for murder. Police had earlier nabbed Mehar with firearms.

    Sources stated that both Borkar and Mehar had been trying to intimidate each other in the last few weeks. There had been fights too where firearms were brandished but not used. Zonal DCP Avinash Kumar, who was on night round, rushed to the place after being informed.
