In the underserved regions of Gadchiroli district and Nashik district, where access to structured training and employment opportunities has traditionally been limited, an initiative by MIAM Charitable Trust is helping tribal and rural youth secure government jobs.

Over the past two to three years, the Mumbai-based organisation, founded by Nitu Joshi, has supported more than 20 students in gaining employment in police services, paramilitary forces, and the Indian Army, reflecting a growing impact across multiple districts in Maharashtra.

Bridging the opportunity gap

Both Gadchiroli and Nashik districts include large rural and tribal populations where access to quality education and competitive exam preparation remains uneven. According to the Census of India, such regions continue to face gaps in literacy, infrastructure, and career guidance.

For many young people in these areas, government employment represents one of the most reliable pathways to financial stability and social mobility. However, the absence of structured coaching and physical training facilities often limits their chances of success in highly competitive recruitment processes.

Training model and CSR support

To address these challenges, MIAM Charitable Trust has established training programmes that combine academic coaching with physical training required for uniformed services such as police, paramilitary, and army recruitment.

Students are provided with:

Free coaching for competitive examinations
Physical fitness training
Study materials and guidance
Logistical support including uniforms and travel assistance

The initiative is supported by Surjagad Ispat Private Limited under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, highlighting a collaborative approach between non-profit organisations and industry in driving regional development.

This year’s selected candidates

In the current year, several candidates trained under the programme have successfully secured government jobs. Among them are:

Deepali Bhaurao Chunarkar (Chintalpeth, Gadchiroli) – selected for paramilitary services
Vandana Bhimrao Atram (Akarpalli, Gadchiroli) – selected for district police
Tirupati Vikas Madavi (Khamancheru, Gadchiroli) – selected for district police

Their selections were made through recruitment processes including those conducted by the Staff Selection Commission and state police recruitment drives.

Voices from beneficiaries

Sharing her experience, Deepali Bhaurao Chunarkar said:

“I am grateful to MIAM Charitable Trust for supporting us. They provided teachers to guide us and proper training, which helped us prepare and succeed.”

Her statement reflects the importance of access to mentorship and structured preparation for candidates from remote and economically weaker backgrounds.

A growing regional impact

Over the last few years, the initiative has enabled more than 20 students from Gadchiroli and Nashik to secure jobs in police, paramilitary, and army services. While the numbers may seem modest, their impact at the grassroots level is significant.

In rural communities, each success story acts as a catalyst, encouraging more youth to pursue competitive exams and structured career paths.

Changing aspirations among youth

One of the most notable outcomes of the initiative has been a visible shift in aspirations among young people. Students who earlier had limited awareness of career opportunities are now actively preparing for government jobs.

Families are also increasingly supportive, recognizing the long-term benefits of stable employment.

Beyond employment

In addition to employment training, MIAM Charitable Trust is involved in broader social initiatives such as women’s skill development, environmental awareness programmes, and community outreach efforts.

Conclusion

The initiative led by MIAM Charitable Trust, with CSR support from Surjagad Ispat Private Limited, demonstrates how targeted grassroots efforts can create meaningful opportunities in underserved regions.

For many families in Gadchiroli and Nashik, these achievements represent more than individual success—they mark a gradual transformation in aspirations, where securing a government job is becoming an achievable goal rather than a distant dream.
