Metro Rail works to undergo a rehearsal in certain areas

While the works of Metro Railway have been initiated on Wardha road, the NMRCL (Nagpur Metro Railway Corporation Limited) has planned to carry out a rehearsal in order to ensure its impact on the city traffic and how to minimize the obstacles for the traffic. The rehearsal will be carried out by installing the barricades. The NMRCL has completed its major portion of works of Metro Railway from Automotive Chowk to Mihan and Prajapati Nagar to Lokmanya Nagar, and now the remaining portion is to get momentum. 

It may be mentioned that while raising pillars for metro rail the major part of road is getting covered up, and so, a rehearsal is necessary before starting the work. The rehearsal will be made by installing barricades, though the barricades will affect the regular traffic. The plan with the help of traffic police will also be chalked to deal with traffic obstacles.

A seven-group is ready
The NMRCL has set up a 7-member group to study the traffic problem. The group includes retired officials who have thorough knowledge of in the field of traffic, and the group will function under guidance of retired DCP (Traffic) Arvind Giri. The group also consists of retired Joint CP (Traffic) Suresh Gadekar who will seek assistance from volunteers of various voluntary organisations, said NMRCL sources.

Rehabilitation of project-affected persons
The problem of rehabilitation of project affected due to land acquisition will be satisfactorily dealt, for which the NMRCL has appointed a committee of experts, headed by NMC’s retired Addl Commissioner D G Filip assisted by retired officers of revenue department of state government.
