Nagpur: A flyover will be built at 20 meter above the ground level at Munje square under the ambitious Nagpur Metro Rail project. This will be the junction of east-west and north-south corridors of Nagpur Metro Rail where trains would interchange. Since Munje square would become a landmark of the city, the construction work is expected to be kickstarted in coming months and the survey for the same has already begun.

The survey is being conducted to take stock of underground pipes, cables and wires that could come in between during the construction work. The survey would help in removing these roadblocks and making substitute arrangement for these. There will also be a 25 meter tall viewing gallery station at the square.

Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRCL) has given the contract of survey to Anandjiwala company from Gujarat. The company is conducting the survey using technologically advanced equipment.

The officials are carefully noting down the details of cables, wires and pipes laid underground. Once the survey is completed and rest of the work of removal or relocation of facility infrastructure of various departments is done, actual work of landmark square of city will be will begin in full force. The entire Munje Square will be run on solar energy.
